Firstly please don't close this thread due to its content bcos I do need help with tactics so it is relevant.
I just have to say they have ruined this game so much. Why have they made it so hard? FM 2006 was awesome and once u could create a good tactic then you were sorted.
On this one, I have tried every tactic that you can download, I have tried doing team talks myself and have let my assistant do them. Its the same outcome. I don't have much success on this game and if I do it only lasts one season then the next season I do awful again.
Please help me bcos I am close to getting rid of this game and never playing it ever again.

I must be honest with you mate the game sucks fm 2006 was awesome i just think they have tried to be to clever with 07 they might just have shot themslelves in the foot.

I completely agree with you.
I don't want to give up on this game tho. I have spent good money on it so I want to play it but its just annoying when you lose or if I do win some games I then lose loads in a row. My teams are always inconsistent.

Go back to FM06 then, nobody is forcing you to play the game. I guess you just feel a degree of failure if you feel you have to go back whilst everyone else is enjoying the difficulty FM07 brings. Read some of the threads around and then you might be able to get your head around it. Football Management is not supposed to be easy and I feel FM07 reflects that.

Exactly, it is a hobby.

The point is, some of us have grown up with the series since its early CM days. Personally i have been playing it since CM 97 and this is the first incarnation that I seriously do not enjoy. They really have messed it up tactics wise with a 2D engine that should actually give you some idea as to how to change your tactics but doesn't.

I mean have you ever watched a full match in 2D and tried to work out what the opposition is doing in terms of mentality, tempo etc?

If it was exactly like football management and FM2007 "reflected this" then we could actually decipher what was going on and change it accordingly, just like real life.

But there is a group who play it for the fun, who want a challenge, but not a near impossible one that takes all the hours of enjoyment that were had in previous games.

When it comes to fun, SI reached their peak at 01/02. FM07 is a really really poor game. I don't want to check every minor "slider" to make sure I have things perfect each match. I want to enjoy the game, it shouldn't be like another fricking job.

Downloading other people's tactics is the main skill required for this game (page 34 in the manual), but you seem to have that covered.

I would suggest that you don't bother trying to learn how the game works, but you done that already too.

It seems that you have already tried moaning about making the game easier, but that didn't work for you either.

Only two things I think might work for you.

1. cheat

or

2. quit.

Go back to cm 01/02 then. There's plenty of communities that still play this version and provide player updates.

to be honest i only find it difficult in the top leagues, in the lower leagues ist not that hard. imo you shouldnt look to big time over acheive, if its predicted youll finish mid table and your board and fans want a mid table position then be happy with it, anything above this can be seen as a bonus.

you dont need to over tweak tactics in the lower leagues and you can get away with most things you try, as long as you alter it if it doesnt work in a particular game. from then on just build a great squad of players, as better players will equal greater chances of sucsess
