I've managed to build a successful tactic which is essentially an attacking 4-4-2, and my team has scored plenty of goals, but theres very few of them coming from my midfield 4.

I play a wide 4-4-2, slow to medium tempo, and with an attacking mentality.

What team/individual settings would help me to get more goals from midfield?

I see no harm in a successful 442 even if the midfielders score little

If you want your wingers to score, keep them from crossing a lot and dribble more, so they can pull in and score sensational goals of the month, by outplaying half the other team.

the central midfielders.... a defensive one should only have long shots on if he's got appropriate stats, but that works really well. Smae applies for the offensive one, who should also have forward runs on, to be right in there with the strikers.

Personally I keep my wingers with crossing the ball, because I find that this is their job... not to score really. if the AMC then also runs into the box, he finds plenty of scoring opportunities, combined with long shots.

maybe if you have the stats for it, use one of the MCs as playmaker with long shots and higher creative freedom... they will blast them in regularely.
