I am currently managing Liverpool in my 1st season.

Great start in pre season didnt lose a game, managed to sell zenden, paletta and pennant got enough money to sign David Villa (currently my top scorer with 25 gls).

Doing brilliantly in Champs league but my league form is abysmal. Losing games to the likes of Sheff Utd at Anfield by the odd goal. I'm playing an attacking wide game at home 4-4-2 getting plenty of the possesion and Shots a plenty but just not making the most of them!

I've played with these tactics in previous saves and they;ve worked wonders. Why not now???

Try something new. The AI isn't going to sit back and let you win every season with the same tactics.

I used to get the same problem when managing LFC, terrible League form. I used to play an attacking 4-4-2 formation aswell.

Still use the normal 4-4-2, put forward runs on AM/L & AM/R half way. In the centre use a DM/C set to DM & have him running back to the centre of the pitch. Then set the AM/C(eg- Gerrard) running forward to the centre of the pitch.

In player instructions have you DMC set to Rarely make forward runs and AMC to Often make forward runs. Set you Strikers to always attack. Centre backs always defend. Full back normal. Leave AMC,AML,AMR to team.

In team intructions set them to Defend and play direct & to play offside.

This may sound very defencesive to play at home, but it works. Beating good teams 3-0 dominating pocession. Use it away aswell.

I'm in my first season at LFC. Made no signings and currently 3rd, 3 points behind 1st, and in the last 16 of Champs League. Hope this helps. Let me know if you use it and if it worked.
