Is there any point to hiring people for these positions when they could be hired as a normal coach to do the exact same thing, but have the advantage of training other areas if needed in the future?

When I start a new game I usually recontract all of these types to normal coaches if they have stats that work well in other areas of training.

i dont think so, i jus do what you do and offer em a general coaching contract - their 'coach' bar goes up eventually if it isn't already full
