Not sure why (I have decent international quality players) my players contnually give the ball away or are caught in posession.

Time and again they get the ball and play it two yards ahead of themselves, straight to an opposition player.

Is this a tempo problem or what?

They give the ball away VERY easily and almost always have to take a touch before passing it, which they almost always give the ball away from.

Help?

what IS you tempo?

if the opposition are closing down heavily i always use quick tempo so that the ball is moved quicker and they wont dwell on it as much.

Things you may want to do:

reduce tempo, give more time to your players to move to position and pass the ball.

Reduce width and play a short - medium passing game...this will ensure that you increase your passing percentage

If your players have poor passing, try not to play direct passing.

If your midfielders have poor decisions, try not to give too many of them try through ball instructions.

If your wingers are losing the ball on their runs, then tell em not to RWB often
