I'm playing with Cork city. 442, slow tempo, short passing, normal creativity, normal mentality. Fairly deep defensive line with the CB's very defensive. Closing down is normal to often.

My goalkeeper kicks the ball out. Their CB heads it back towards him - where their striker runs on to it and calmly puts it away! My goalkeeper is set to v short passing and defender collect btw!

Whats going on! I thought the deep defensive line would prevent this!

D-line only kicks in when you dont have the ball. Same with width but it only kicks in when you have the ball.

Instead try defender collect, and try allso to have gk on nearly samme mentality as defenders.
But I know sometimes he will boot it up the field no matter what you do.
When things like that happens to me, I see it as an indication that something about my tactic as a whole isnt working, you need to find out what.
