Tactics & Training Tips

It's no use having a squad full of star players without a decent way for them to play their football.

Default Goal Drought

My Hartlepool is surprising all the pundits by residing in the Championship playoff zone at midseason. (2018-19 FM2006). They score 12 goals in a five-game stretch and are tied for the league lead in goals scored.

In next next seven games, they score once -- from a PK.

My usual tactics involve attacking, much creative freedom, mixed passing, quick tempo, wide width, counter-attacking.

My question: what do you do to counter a goal drought when you're playing attacking football?

Then it's possible for the players to get too creative for their own good?

Your suggestion is worth a try.

I forgot to mention that we are not shipping goals. During the seven-game stretch, we've allowed four, one of them a PK.
