I bought him for West Ham from Barca in 3rd season for 14.75M and was average for me in first season with avg, ratings between 6-7 most of the time. Didn't get a chance to see how he'd have gone later on coz my HDD got corrupted

See this is what I don't like about this game, players who would never play for a certain club in a million years are obviously not that ahrd to get a hold of. ManUtd would NEVER sell Pique to Liverpool, that's just crazy.

Dani is a spanish defender, at the start of the game he plays for a division 2 youth team and is basically not rated highly. I discovered him when I needed a "OK" defender for Valencia for less than £2m. I got him because, well I liked his name and his stats looked ok (yes I know lousy reason) In the game he's a regular for the national team and one of the more competent defenders I've ever had the pleasure of having on my team.

That DC from boca (forgot his name.. and I totally lost track of him after he disappeared from boca...) played excellent for me and kept Rosenborg from conceding (Arsenal had a real though time getting past him and all the other teams were totally destroyed )

Of course I might have been lucky with their PA.. but for me he was devine.

I have never bought Pique because whenever I play against him he gets a rating of 5. This is because of his low acceleration and pace, my pacey striker can simply pretend that he's not there... even when he's marking my tall target man instead, his 16/17 jumping is not good enough for my 20 jumping target man.

I would go for DCs with high physical stats, Pepe is a very good buy if you ask me- 17+ for every physical attribute and still has 15 15 acceleration and pace with 17 jumping when he is 33 years old.

Slightly offtopic but I reckon FM08 should nerf the effect of physical stats. When my average striker with 20 jumping and decent strength (and rubbish stats in everything else) dominates wolrd class DCs such as Pique or sergio Ramos or Milito or Rodrigues Gonzales (ppl with low jumping), there's something wrong.

I would deffo go for Pique he has always been immense for my Everton sides when i have had him. He is always the best defender on the game in years to come. I wouldnt bother with Bale, in my history of having him he has always been crap. I would move for Armend Traore from Arsenal or Leighton Baines of Wigan, both better LB then Bale

i want either Baines or Bale. Baines is at Juve and englands number one left back and would cost £24mil according to my scouts, im not prepared to pay that
