Yeah Gregory isn't a DMC, but I threw him in there anyway and he's performing so I can't really complain. I like to set up a lot of play from the DMC position so that will be a big priority to upgrade at some point, but right now I'm doing the business.

What sort of tactics do you use? I have a defensive formation and counter attacking, with a playmaker from DMC. I go wider at home and away from home I will sometimes start Ashikodi, go slightly more defensive and set him as a target man and supply to run onto (pace and acc are 18).

I offered Easter a new deal near the end of the first season when I got my own new contract and extra wage room, knowing if I left it until the new season he'd probably refuse to sign.

Swansea and Chesterfield are both lagging midtable.

I should say I go slightly more direct away from home, not slightly more defensive.

Managed to knock Blackpool down to €95K which I think is a decent bit of business - given he's a fair bit better than Gyaki and will be useful for a playoff push from January onwards. Good enough to start if I stay in League One, and a handy back-up if I somehow get promoted.

Haynes is a great signing. At least one other person on here (Jonny Kaufman or Trundle, maybe both) loaned him in the first season. I'm pretty sure Jonny did as he now has him permanently. Great player

Was Neil Ashton the DL you brought in? You should have tried to get Langmead as a swap for Bloomfield instead.

Trivia: Luke Varney started his career at Quorn

Yep - should definitely be good enough for The Championship too.

Yeah was Ashton iirc. I'll see how it goes, I'll look at Langmead.

As for the start of the season, I think we have 1 loss, one draw and 1 win, although we have played so well in all three games.

Probably too late to get Langmead. He starts out as a 'backup to the first team' but soon changes to 'first team player'. If you tried for him at the start you might be able to get him as Shrews are always interested in Bloomfield.
