doing the above is discovering things for yourself, not getting someone else to tell you oh do this and do than buy him and you'll win.
IMHO posters here wouldn't use those methonds to gain an unfair advantage, you read the paper find a good player, and like any manager scout him if it's realistic and if the reports are good try and sign them.
it's about doing it for yourself with out the need to gain unfair advantage.

We have a football saying in my land which goes this way: The manager's solitude appears when he starts losing and realises noone but himself is going to get his team out of the hole. |

Those who discuss tactics approach from one of two angles: they are either trying to exploit any weaknesses in the AI (which the AI cannot counter, so is blatantly unrealistic) or they discuss with other managers how to fine-tune their new uber-tactic. Now, do you really see Wenger and Alex sitting down for cocktails before the ManUre Arse-nal game discussing their tactics? Nope, neither do we.
Those who discuss players usually talk about the potential youngsters who you can pick up on a free now, but who have a potential rating of 180 or something. Again, not realistic, as we, in real life, don't have ways of seeing into the future. And we go further - we don't use prior knowledge of great players our scouts may have discovered in previous games. If our scouts don't find them, we don't sign 'em.
That's why LLM is more than just playing a game: there's a certain amount of discipline involved. Success is almost secondary to us; the struggle itself is what we thrive on.

I respect for the way you play, I dont want to cheat, firstly I know arsena and alex dont discuss tactics, but managers who are not competing do help each other. I do not use the editor to look for potential rating that is cheating I agree. Personally I cant see a problem with talking to your friends about tactics and which players are good and bad. I dont use tactics which exploit flaws in the match enging eg diablo in 03/04

Pleasant answer:
Realism is what's it all about. In RL I support a team in the Southern Premier League. This does not mean that I have an encyclopedic knowledge of all the squads including reserves and youths in that league.
Sky does not show games at the Conf N/S levels that England playing LLMs start at. Therefore the only information in the media comes from (often biased reports) in NL paper, local press and the internet. The players are not as well known as your Premiership playboys.
Manager A never rings Manager B and says "I've got this magic formation that means I always win 6-0", so tactic discussion is also unrealistic.
Unpleasant answer to confirm that our attitudes are s**t:
Go fist yourself with barbed wire.

I apologise for saying your attitudes are s**t its the first time av looked at this forum I just thought it was full of unhelpful bast***s, I can now see it is just the way you play the game. Tactical discussions do happen by managers, on tv, friends at pub wherever, talking tactics is not taking away from realism it makes it more realistic , exploiting flaws in match engine is not realistic I agree, but discussing if you prefer 433 to 442, there is nothing wrong eith that and it happens in the real world

Personally I think a forum for llm where tactics and good players can be discussed would be popular.

Indeed it does, not in this forum though. It's very, very simple really. Nobody asked you to post here - but if you do, you damn well better read the forum rules, guidelines and header and respect the people who are playing this way. If you don't agree, well - tough. Confrontation isn't the way to go here, trust me on this one.
You wanna tip? Fine, just don't do it in here, and don't tell us about it.
End of.
