I wouldn't call it common sense. I can't believe (except for clubs in the direst of circumstances) that a new manager would waltz in and reduce everyone's wages. There'd be a mutiny.

End Of Season Update

Things went well considering the boards expectations. I finished 2nd in the league 9pts behind winners Barrow. Lost in play-off semis to Stafford Rangers 5-1 on agg.

As I mentioned before the cups were nothing worth mentioning.

Rejected 2 jobs towards the end of April. 1 from a struggling Conference National side and 1 from a team who ended up making it to the League 1 play-off final.

I am currently clearing out the useless players I couldn't sell at the start of the season and am scouting for potential new players.

Will update either halfway through or at the end of next season.

End Of Season Update 2005/06

With the near promotion of last season my confidence was quite high. The board expected a mid-table finish and gave 5k to spend. After selling one of my star players, I raised that amount to 45k. I bought in 7 new players for a total of 6k along with a new coach and physio. After these purchases I was £110 over my 3k wage budget.

Our form was indifferent all season and we rarely went on a really good run of results. We ended the season in 3rd place, 11pts behind winners Nuneaton. In the play-offs we lost in the semi-final to Staford Rangers again ( ). In the cups we lost in the FA Cup 2nd Quals. In the FA trophy we lost in the 2nd round.

Our average attendence was 1183 (up from 789 last season).

League Record: P42 W25 D6 L11 Pts81.

With half my squad leaving on frees in the summer I'm going to have to get my scouts to work if I'm going to challenge next season.
