Now, this thread is not asking or wanting to be told any tactics, or players to buy/loan (I know that's in the rules, but just wanted to stop anyone from being tempted! )
I'm playing as Moor Green as probably many of you know. I've made it to Conference National in my 3rd season and cannot win a game for the life of my team. No matter what tactic, players loaned/bought. I'm now on a 18 game in a row losing streak (nice media comment as well) from the very first game of the season. The board expectations are to fight bravely against relegation - I'm hoping for the sack, but the fans adore me - the board have full confidence in my abilities.....(why?).
So what would you do? Is jumping ship in the spirit of the Llamma or do I have to just wait? I've got a very good feeling that if I lose all the matches this season and get relegated the board won't sack me. To be fair, the team are not good enough for the division (the stats just don't match up), so I'm not expecting much. I guess I'm answering my own question here - the yo yo it is. Until the board grow tired of it or my scouts find some decent players (is that possible in FM??).
I had a similar situation in my Portugal save. Janaury arrived and I hadn't won. I jumped before I was relegated out of the playable leagues, which was already a certainty.

Getting promoted to the conferance would be your answer.
The fans love you and the board support you because you took them up in the first place. That gives you a longer leash. Clearly if the board's expectation was simply to battle bravely against relegation then they weren't expecting much from this season.
You can jump ship if you want (and I admit resigning can seem a sweet relief to being battered every match), but better to use the experience to really analyse your players. See who can cut it at this level. See who still has the moxie to keep showing up even when things are going completely pear shaped. Check the status reports if, for example, you have UNH players. Maybe some of them don't get along with each other. Maybe some of them need their egos stroked in the media. Maybe you need to make an example of one in the media.
Then, assuming you do get relegated, you'll be better prepared for next season's promotion push.
Getting Moor Green to the Conference is a good achievement in itself, and I believe the club are punching above their weight at that level.
You've obviously done a good job, so stick at it. If you want to leave, fine, but not while they are in such a predicament - unless you feel you've taken them as far as you can.
IRL look at Rotherham this season. How many games before a win? But they were never going to sack their manager - where do their fans expect them to be, top of the Premiership? They'll just keep at it, and will probably go down, but go down fighting, and to a division realistic for the size of the club.
Also, look at Crewe. One of the most respected managers in the game, but they've only progressed 2 divisions in 20 years, but this is still a remarkable achievement for the size of the club.
