The only way to avoid what i can only describe as a warm welcome to these parts is to make a note of the information contained within the Header and FAQ... especially as you admit to not picking a side in the lowest available division.

So i can only say good luck in your game but i'm hoping that you don't try to start an update on it in here

Up until this Christmas my son ran a P2 350 with 256MB RAM and managed to play CM03/04, albeit slowly, on it with the Conference as the Lowest League.

Why did I press "post" there?

I suppose I'm getting a bit mellow in my old age, but I don't personally have a problem with guys playing League 2 as LLM, it's usually the newer guys who start jumping up and down screaming "non-llm" when guys try to update. The proviso list I made up only had Division 2 as "pushing it", Division 1 was "you're having a laugh"

I've always said, and will continue to do so, that it's possible to play ManUre in the LLM style (Guidelines and Rules)...but don't try to do it in here

That said, if the guys can't accept that LLM isn't only Conference N&S then maybe we'll have to look into it.

My advice would be to limit the number of countries you include at the start. This will stop you from having the full roaming Llama experience but should allow the running of the lower leagues far more smoothly.

However, i'm a fine one to talk because i built myself a shiny new machine just before FM was released.... coincidence? I think not!

I nearly posted that myself, but you beat me to it.

LLM is a way of life, not where you start.

Also, if you're running the Conference National, and want to be at a club local to you, then Burton in the Conference are not too far from Nottingham....

Maybe this is causing the mix-up?

Mind you, i totally agree that the way you play the game is much more important than who you play with. I.e, i've recently managed Barcelona if you recall

I'm not saying that to play the LLM way you have to start in the Conference N/S (or the absolute lowest league available), just that it would be a better place for new Llamas to start so they can get used to playing the LLM way.

It seems to a relative novice Llama such as myself that the temptations are greatly reduced when you have no chance of using your real-life knowledge of the competitions or players.

Frankly, starting low is just more fun, but i know what you're getting at with the temptation angle Stu.

And mavis' point illustrates exactly what i mean!

It is more fun to start lower with more targets to aim at if nothing else, but it is supposed to be frustrating, hard and nerve-wracking too - it is a simulation after all!!
