Default St. Albans City - My LLM debut

Yes, this is my first venture into the LLM game. Please be nice. I've adhered to pretty much every rule laid out by the guidelines, but let me know if i'm doing anything wrong..

-------------------------

And so my career would start here. 25 years old, unemployed and looking for work. It would be 3 month's before my first real opportunity arose. Exeter City and Mansfield Town both came knocking, but i was out to gain some valid experience in the regional divisions first. The job at Heartforshire club St. Albans City would be the first to arise, and although i also applied for the vacancy at Welling, The Saints would be the first to offer me work, and i duly accepted.

The season ahead promised to be a challenge. I inherited a small and largley talentless squad, with little in the way of backroom staff. There was however plenty of potential. A generous wage budget coupled with just over £8k for transfer's certainly gave me something to play with on the transfer front, while a stadium capable of holding just over 6000 fans ensured the club was capable of permorming at a higher level.

Potential was not what i was after though. Sitting in 16th and 8 points off the relegation zone, i needed quality now. My first task was to advertise in the local press for assistance, which resulted in a new Assistant Manager, 2 new coaches and 3 new scouts being appointed to help me out.

Thankfully, my scout's unvailed some awesome signing's who would provide both future potential and immidiete success for little cost. 2 new midfielders were brought in for little over £3k, while more good work from my scouting team allowed me to sign a couple of freebie's who had been released from the division above. I found a formation that seemed to fit the players avaialable to me, and i created a front pairing as deadly as anything else in the division.

My campaign started well, as my first 3 games resulted in 2 wins and a draw, a mini run which saw The Saint's climb 2 places. This initial honeymoon period was not to last though. The failing's in the side which ultimatley cost the last man his job began to appear, and we were shipping goals at an alarming rate. Thankfully, our strength upfront was enough to salvage the odd point or 3, but the lack of pace, power and quality at the back cost us deer on many occasion. The side seemed incapable of holding onto a lead, and even 3-0 lead's going into the last 20 minutes of games never quite seemed comfortable.

The last month of the season was a busy and ultimatley successfull one. A fine run of result's pulled me clear of any relegation issues, but our dire mid season form meant we could never push any further up the league. The good late form didn't change my mind on my squad either. Further scouting had unearthed enough decent out of contract or unprotected players for me to ring the changes, while the planned sale of some our supposed prize assets would also free up more transfer funds.

It would surely be an exciting summer ahead, with the prospects looking good for next season.

So, my first attempt. Your thoughts? More updates to come soon..

St. Albans seems to be a popular team in LLaMaland.

Welcome to LLM Chapps. Any chance of a FM United team this year?
