I was immediately fascinated by the rules and guidelines of the LLM when I first visited this forum. I thought it was a challenging and interesting way to play the game.
So I decided to give it a try.
I wanted to play in England, and I let the random LLM generator pick my team. So there I was, manager for St. Albans in the Conference south league.
Let me be honest with you. It has been a tough call this far. I have struggled, and torn my hair in agony and irritation over lousy defenders and crap strikers. Fortunately, the board expect me to stay clear from relegation, and they are happy as long as I am on the right side of the relegationline.
My scouts have found little but useless players, but I refuse to give up. And I tell you why;
I am now nr 17 in the league. I went ten matches in a row without winning, but then, at last, I won a match!! And my team scored more than one goal. I must say, I have never ever felt that I have earned a victory more than that time. It was absolutely astonishing.
So I am hooked now. I know I maybe never will experience to get promoted with St. Albans, but I got a heart for the club, I feel I am doing the hard work, and I know I am getting a glimpse of the situation of thousands of managers around the world that also is in charge of a crap team. It is far between the highlights, but when they come, they taste even better.
LLM is a brilliant way to play the game. I will now keep on struggling with my dear St.Albans. (Have even looked at the map to find out where it is situated and all)
And when the losses get to many, I can always play a game in charge of Real madrid, before I go back to St.Albans again. I wont give up. I promise. Next year I set for 15th place. That'll be something!!
