I´ve been lurking here for a while and recently registered to the forums.
I think your way of playing the game seems very interesting and I thought to give it a go.
My team is VPS (Vaasan Palloseura) in Finnish first division. In the first season
the board and the fans expected a respectable position. After a few game losing streak
at the beginning of the season the team improved a lot and eventually I finished
third just one point behind second place team, which gaind promotion by play offs.
The Finnish cup was a bit of succes for me because we reached quater final stage.
Clubs finacial situation is bad, almost £500K in red. Well, let´s hope things improve
if I can get the promotion.
Despite a good season I feel disappointed. I finished second, just one point behind the leader. I lost in the promotion play offs, so it´s another season in the first division for me.
Cup run was much better than last season, although the biggest disappointment came in the Finnish Cup final. I had several first team guys banned and injured and we lost 4-1 to local rival non league team Funny thing in the cup was that in the quater final there was three teams from first division and five non league teams :eek: All the Premier Division teams got humped by lower teams. Finances are still a mess, just over £400K´s in red. Damn that UEFA Cup spot would have become very handy...

I'm not sure how you play your cup games over there, but if 'humping' is involved cups really do suck ar*e :eek:

ahhh the good old finnish first division. I playing with Jalkopallosaura (sp?) Rakuunat in my first ever game of FM 2005 before the patch came out. THat team sucked so so very badly. I luckily didnt get relegated my first season due to a 6 game win run at the end of the season. Note i had only won 1 game to that date. Second season saw me have a similar run or 1 win for most of the season, i then gave up due to a bug and the new patch came out.

I´m beginning to believa that my team is cursed or something. Again I finished third, now three points behind number two. I led the league in the first half of the season, but only four victories and few draws in the last half dropped me from the top
Cups suck arse, big time I lost in the seventh round to a non league team. And in the fourth round where I started the cup run we had serious problems against an amateur team. Two goals inthe extra time got us the undeserved victory.
Finanaces are still a big mess, but strangely enough the board has increased my wage budget every season. I think there should be a board request to decrease the size of the stadium. Our stadium´s capacity is 6000 but our average attendance is about 700. Not good, the ground maintenance is killing me
A bad season, very bad. Bookies tipped me as co-favorite for promotion. This probably caused my team to underperform heavily. I never got higher than fifth in the league and seventh place was my result at the end.
Cups sucked also this season. Only got to the fifth round where I was knocked by a premier division team.
Nothing spectacular happened with the finances.
The season saw me getting my second lowest attendace when 79 people came to see me trash the divisions points machine 6-1.
