I was going to give conference south a shot but I havnt played with a team very low in FM yet and was wondering if a team is semi pro do they eventually go pro (after several promotions)?
My team turned pro on their third season. Ouch!!! I still have noghtmares about the taxes and the improved wages for playing staff and non-playing staff... :*(

The second law of thermodynamics was disproved years ago, but nobody has come up with a better theory yet.

It used to be when most of your players were on full time contracts i think. Don't know if thats still the case on FM05 though.

Does anyone know for sure?
I've read on other threads about it but not experienced it yet. Only just been promoted to the Conference after 2 seasons so wouldn't expect it yet anyway.
What factors are taken into consideration to decide to make a team a professional one?
Is it the league you are in or seasons played in the game, size of the club, bank balance or perhaps a combination of these things?
Is there like an announcement in the messages section to let you know if and when it happens?
