Don't think he was referring to scouting back home.
The previous knowledge question is redundant anyway, since anyone likely to sign for a crap Conference N/S team will have had their stats randomised by the game.

Sending a scout once a season compensates for this...and it's been discussed before and obviously forgotten.

I reckon old Bertie, would have done a better job of building a house than he did with our national team.

And on the subject of "You wouldn't sign someone without scouting first".
Does anyone actually believe that a Celtic scout watched *The guy whose second name sounds like poo*

Valid, amusing, but unfortunately player naming too.

I always play as my own nationality, and will do as Iaj does: once a year send a scout from Jockland (where I always manage) to America to have a look. I add the personal restriction of only doing it if I have a healthy balance that can afford a month-long trip.

Dunno why I bother though, as a LL side (just currently in second division, past 3 seasons in Div 3) my scouts don't find anyone- and by that I don't mean anyone good, I mean no one. Just a nice vacation for my hard-working scout. And this is even with the retain USA players enabled from startup.

To be fair, altho' my RL team have risen through the leagues in recent years, when they were a lowly ScotDiv2 outfit they had 2 Canadian internationals. One went on to better tihngs and disappreared, the other wandered about a bit and is back with the original club. So bit-part Canuk internationals at a lower league outfit is not entirely unrealistic.

Sorry, didn't realise that counted as player naming as it was hardly LLM (anyway, he wasn't good enough for the conference N/S)

/me suddenly realizes that with a GBP 2.5million transfer kitty, I can probably afford to send a scout back home to Blighty from Portugal for the first time \o/

Which is lucky. I can't find anyone to buy in Portugal. They're all either too crap or too good for me.

I am having that exact same problem. They're all too crap, and the good ones my scouts don't bother with.

I understand scouting has been "tweaked" for 5.03. Not sure if this will benefit us, but I believe it will.

You certainly picked the right 2 versions of the game.

They treat us folk from the other side of the Atlantic pretty well. Good luck wooing those Canadians.
