Play the cripples in qualifying rounds. If they make it through (somehow) to the proper rounds, have a look at the fixture list - if it's not too congested and my players are in reasonable shape, why not?
My 30-goal striker is just as likely to crock himself on the training pitch as in a match (more likely, probably, considering my brutal training regime).

But if my players look weary and big league games are coming up, let the cripples play on.

Personally, i will go out of my way to field my first team in the FA Cup. The money from it is just too big a temptation to ignore. Any Premiership or Championship team will give me some cash i just can't say no to. Almost the same goes for the League Cup - almost.

Vans & FA Trophy suck the big one though, i'll give you that.

Just a question of promotions, Kostis.

What percentage of seasons are you promoted?

Just roughly.

Just for the sake of conversation, i'd say... once in every 3 seasons - roughly.

As i said - roughly.

Seriously, i've always believed that if a team is good enough to be promoted, a Cup run won't stop them.

Won't get much playing time over the next couple of weeks I'm afraid but I have just played a few games in the FA Cup.. 4th qualifying round game at home against Moor Green. Won the game to set me up with a real money game at Swindon

With the best reserves I could field we took the lead early on and I started dreaming of our chances in Europe next season. But then, heartbreak. It was never going to be Europe. Got our sorry asses played off the park losing 6-1

So I've come to the conclusion that at least I suck ass in the cups.
Off to floorball practice now...
