Something Sancho said made me think of this.

Does anyone else pay enough attention to the weather during a match that they'd actually consider changing their tactics to fit? I do - to an extent, although I don't pick a team based on it any more - but I was wondering whether (pun narrowly avoided) anyone else shares my somewhat anal attention to detail?

And please, no specifics.

Not really. I'm sure that the weather must have some effect on the way that your team plays or how your tactics should be set up, but I go out with the mentality that we'll lose anyway. So, I don't see much point in making the effort.

I always look at the weather forcast before submitting my teamsheet.

I pick my best XI (subject to fitness) every game. The weather has not impact on my selection or tactics.

Is it realistic to pay attention to the weather? Well, to a certain degree it is.

Of course it depends on the style of play I employ, and if I have certain players of which I know that they won't like to play in a blizzard. Instead I'd be more inclined to field a Milanese-Bulldog-type player instead of a Brazilian diva.

It must be something psychic. I can't be me though, I'm not psychic. Psychotic maybe, but definitely not psychic...

As an add-on to my previous post. I do tend to look at the weather but I don't change my tactics because of the weather.

Quite obviously, I tend to play badly because of this but I still won't change my tactics.

I'm stubborn I guess.

Sure I do look at the weather.

I won't change a field selection, but it might influence our particular approach to the game on said match.

I modify my tactics for the weather.

I modify my tactics (and thus my team) for the team I am playing, based on the match my scout has looked at.

I modify my tactics about 20 times during the game dependent on how my team and my opponents are playing.
