I have a number of senior players that I hope could make the switch to coaching or scouting staff for sentimental reasons. What I have observe is that with player interaction, you can try to convince players to seriously / definitely staying in the game.

I have not progressed far into my game to see the results of this. Can anyone give advice as to the probability of them switching to a staffing role? If not, is there any way to guarantee a switch once they retire as a player?

Unfortunately there is no guarantee. You just have to keep trying to convince them.

I'm not sure if I'm correct on this but I've never seen a retired player have more than 170 potential as a coach/manager? Is this correct?

If it is, what would Beckenbauer's potential be, A great player turned into a great coach?
