Default FM for Christmas?...Some advice

This is the third time Im trying to post this question. Every time I write it, the post ends up being a novel so I erase it and start over.

Basically, should I purchase this game for my dad (I have it and love it) who travels a lot and wouldnt be able to devote as much time to the game as me? We have pretty similar tastes and he, like me, loves a good strategy game. I devote a solid amount of hours to this game but he would only be able to play 10 hours a week at the absolute most. He loves sports and strategy but I dont think SI intended this to be a pick up and play, so to speak.

So, to summarize, can this game be enjoyable with minimal amount of time put in? (if that makes any sense.....its been a long day)

this game doesnt really need much time...its a pretty much 'play when you wish' game...however it may become addictive so wstch out...but yea go ahead buy it for dad

If your dad likes to manage a biggish team then I suppose buy it.

If he likes to manage in the lower leagues then I would give it a miss.

Maybe that opinion will change after the one of the patches. I hope so.

Thanks for the fast reply, Goofus. I think that I am gonna get it for him. I just wanted some reassurance, I guess you could say.

He could manage lower league if he didn't select too many nations, which would make the processing go that little bit faster.

Problem is, he could get addicted and end up losing his job to it!

About the patch; this may sound like a stupid question but I am not sure how it works. After the patch comes out, whenever that is, will the game be reissued already patched?

If not, I can just order it now because it wouldnt make a difference either way.....just wanna make it easier on him so he can just install and play.

No. He or you will have to download the patch onto his pc/laptop.

My dad will get it for christmas just like has gotten the paste few versions. He got addicted a long time ago when me and my brother still lived at home and we played hotseat games all three of us. At times he spends 5 days a week away from home and the computer but he never had any trouble getting into it.
