Put it in your "/my documents/sports interactive/fm 2008/matches " directory. Then go to main menu of fm and click "view match" at the bottom right corner.

Top it off they missed 18 chances?? HOW???

Also how on earth did Livorno get 50% possesion? 39% complete passes, 57% tackles? 3 freekicks 2 throwins and 1 off side WITH NO PLAYERS???

In addition who took that 1 single shot by Livorno??

Upload the pkm for me please. I would like to watch this match.
yes of course, the important issue here is the 18 chances they missed

clearly a pretty bad bug, the actual game stats don't really matter, as they shouldn't have zero players in a match in the first place. the result helped to spot it but going off on a rant about the specific stats in the match is pointless.

That was one ****ed up pkm!

There are seemingly invisible "barriers" on the pitch, who can block a ball and send it back upfield. Unfortunately they can't defend, or much of anything else.

It's like Inter are playing on a slanted mine field or something

The missed chances are the result of attempts to be fancy, deep crosses headed from 15 yards out going over the bar for example.

I remember seeing something similar in FM 2007, when I was messing around with that in-game memory modifier thing from the editor's forum.

If you make all the opposing players with 0 fitness during a european club cup match (champion's league, uefa cup etc), the computer can't pick a full team, and they can end up with 10, 9 or even no players at all.

This is funny because if you watch the match, although your team is only facing say 5 players, they sometimes hit 'barriers', dribble on the spot or make through-ball passes as if someone is blocking them.

Imagine there would have been a yellow card for Livorno

I finally see what a player needs to do to get a 10 rating...score 24 goals.

A lot of the stuff can be explained with regards to this game.

For whatever reason, the match kicked off with no Livorno players. That's a bug and poo happens so although it's a bit of a mare if it happoens to you, it's a known bug and SI are trying to fix it so we will leave it at that.

Even the Inter player getting a yellow card could be expleined. It could be for taking his top off after scoring or it could have been for telling the ref he's an arse for allowing the game to be played without any opposition.

If however, as we are led to believe, the game calculates the match result, (or any change therein), after you make your team selections, formations, tactics etc, and this is reviewed after every tactical change, then I can see absolutely no possible way at all that the following can happen.....

1. Livorno can NEVER have a single shot on goal because they don't have any players. An errant back-pass that is saved by a GK is not counted as a shot so this would seem to indicate a problem with the match engine quite seperate to the problem that causes no players to be fielded by Livorno.

2. If the game calculates the result based upon our actions and inbstructions, how did Liborno manage 50% posession?

3. Livorno were given 9 free-kicks. What were these free-kicks for and how did the match engine replicate the taking of these free-kicks?

4. Livorno were given 2 throw0ins. How were these taken and how was the game restarted?

5. The only way that I can see the game continuing after Livorno were awarded a throw-in or a free-kick is if the referee gave a subsequent free-kick the other way for time-wasting when the free-kick/throw-in wasn't taken. As Livorno only conceded 2 free-kicks, this does not seem to have been the case.

6. Who gave away the 2 free-kicks and what are they for?

7. Who was off-side and how?

8. How did Livorno make 39% of their passes when there was nobody on the pitch to make a pass and nobody on the pitch to pass to?

9. How did Livorno win 57% of their attempted tackles?

10. How did Livorno win 100% of attempted headers.

11. How did Inter win ANY throw0ins, never mind about 15?

12. How did Inter win a corner?

Can't be bothered to pick apart the rest of the stats.

The problem here is not just that Livorno were not able to field a side. The more serious problem is that the match engine would seem not to be a reasonable representation of what is or what should happen. If the match engine isn't reflecting the information the it's being given in respect of players/formations/tactics, then FM08 has far bigger worries than whether the confidence screen is broken or whether lower league attendances are skewed.

shouldnt all of their goals be ruled out as offsides???

seriously though, there is no point in trying to analyze the stats of this game, results of bugs are never normal. Its like trying to make sense of a comic...

I agree with Jimbokav1971 that the real worry is how the game got the stats that it got.

It appears clear the result is pre-determined rather than looking at lineup/tactics. That would indeed be very sad and worrying.
