Guys, lets quit waiting for the patch and start the new game!
First of all, I must stress that I am not being a "fanboy" and defending SI.
Then let me bring up my point, in FM2007, when the 7.0.1 patch went out, did it solve all the problems? the answer is simple, no. In fact, some bugs still remain in FM07 even after the 7.0.2 patch.
Now lets look at 8.0.1 "Beta" FM08, yes it has some bugs. However, I can stress that it is NOT as serious as some people claimed. People waiting for the patch must be thinking "after the patch, the game is gonna be 100% realistic and bug free". Unfortunately, I can tell you now that the difference between the "beta" and "real" patch wont be huge. No game is bug free, even the greatest of all games. and No game is 100% realistic, even the most realistic football management game in the world which is FM.
I have been playing with the 2nd Beta for a while, some bugs remain. But I must assure you that the most serious closing down bug is fixed. Most other bugs is also partially fixed. When Frank Lampard or Stevie Gerard having a long-range shot that scores, did anybody shouts "oh its a bug!!!" Remember Gerard's goal in the FA cup final's dying seconds? Training improvement is slow, but hey, remember in 07, where you see all those masses and masses of red arrows?
Some people wait for the patch for Data fixes, but hey, we have our own data editor so why cant we do it ourselves?
So I say, lets start the game now! Let the long painful waiting come to an end.

Why do people feel the need to post crap like this?
Because I am enjoying playing FM08 even it is not fully patched. And since I saw a lot of people waiting painfully for the full patch, I just want to stress the Beta version is still enjoyable.
If you have a problem with that, you have the right to remain silent.

Let the record show that I also enjoy the game very, very much. So what if there are a few things that need tweaking? Show me a perfect program and I'll call you a liar.

Good point, I've been playing since it came out and my first season was pretty dire (with leeds) conceeding a ton of goals. But I patched in the off-season and I couldn't wish for any better, I haven't seen any big bugs that i have heard about such as morale, long shots or transfer funds and it's running at an extremely fast speed on a poor computer.
There was no need to come and insult ArseneFM he was making a point necessary to be made to balance everyone criticising the game.

There are a lot people suffering in these forums with pre-patch nerves
The worrying bit is the reaction to the patch when it arrives, which is no doubt why SI are taking their time to try to get it right
