However the official patch will have most if not all major bugs fixed…
However after patching to the second beta patch people should be able to play the game as the main patch will like all patches be save game compatible.

What part of it is pure speculation? Care to explain what you mean?

I am sure that there are plenty peopel, like me, who have played the game with the beta patch and experienced genuine gamebreaking bugs such as no new contract offered/getting sacked for overachieving with a non-top league side. Because SI has recorded this as a known issue, we expect this bug to be fixed in the full patch. Therefore I think that the full patch will make a huge difference to the game than the beta patch and the difference is my very position as a manager of a team (in fm 08 of course Smile). Our opinions are based on experience and facts, whereas Mr.ArseneFM's is not.
| Well there is one thing I cant understand.
If you cant get a new contract if overachieved(well, that didnt happen to me but I am not saying it dosent exist), I honestly believes that if you start a new game today, before you reach the 2-year contract limit the real patch will be out long before that. Unless you decide to play FM2008 24hours per day. Isnt that problem sorted?
"plenty peopel", I am pretty sure that is not based on fact or experience, instead it is based on your gut instinct.
And I also MUST remind you Mr Wolfsong that, "you have the right to remain silent" is directed at somebody who says "why does people think they need to post CRAP like this". I also must remind you that freedom of speech is not absolute to any extent and does not mean you can just come and say anything and can get away with it.
And to Nostromo, I am pretty glad that I am actually using my IQ and thanks for giving me credit on this.

I took over Nantes in French 2nd league and brought them from 16th to 10th, but I was sacked because the team was expected to achieve promotion. Of course you could say that I don't need to start unemployed, but that is just my preference to playing this game.
Board confidence is just one example of the bugs that are keeping people waiting for the full patch. I have had penalty shootouts with 10 penalties missed in total, this was confirmed in the bugs forum and it certainly makes me feel reluctant to start a new game because it seriously lacks realism. Also as Greg pointed out there is morale problems which PaulC himself confirmed as an issue. As confirmed by later posts in the known issue listthe known issue list in bugs forum says, there are still plenty bugs that are serious in the beta patch.
I am sure I do not have to post links to every thread complaining about these issues to backup my judgment of 'plenty peopel' (I do think my spelling needs improving ).
Freedom of speech is indeed not absolute to any extent. However, keeping on telling people who disagree with you or in particular have complaints about the game does not contribute to the idea of freedom of speech (or let us be real, to the forum). I have seen your posts in others' threads telling them they should not have posted this, there is no need to post that etc etc, I do not see that as fit and justified.

Well I am just saying the game is still enjoyable and is the most realistic by a mile.
Your opinion is different from mine therefore you have the right to oppose my opinion and then I have the right to oppose your opinion which opposes mine then you have the right to......It really goes on forever dosent it? I think SI should open a "politic" thread. In fact,
heated debate on any topic will lead to a certain extent of personal attack but I hope we can avoid it. Sometimes when I do have a strong opinion I go a bit over the top.
Since both of us are waiting for the patch I think we should be on a united front. However, I an troubled by the grief of some ppl waiting for the patch like their life cant go on without it. Thats what this post is really intended as.

Hehe. You guys make me giggle.
It's been a year or two since i've been on these forums, (testament to FM06 and 07 probably), and this time me and my friend said "Just check if there's a new fm08 patch out, and best avoid the forums. We might regret what we find there."
And like the poisoned chalice these forums are, I had a quick peek, read all your issues with the game, and now I blame all of you wizards and rogues.
I was greatly enjoying the game before I read all your (minor) bug discoveries. You fellow nerds uncover truths I would have perhaps overlooked.
Always the way. Avoid the forum. Enjoy the game for longer
Silly but honest.
Scotty
ps. Still amusing and disheartening to see people flamed for expressing a personal and well expressed view or argument (eg. Dietspam:" Why do people feel the need to post crap like this?"). Has to be the most excitable forum i've ever witnessed.

Well I think it really does depend on your personal preference as to weather to wait for the patch or to play till the patch it depends mainly on your patientce I would assume personally I have quite short patientce so I have gone back to other things till the full patch is ready because I get annoyed by the morale bug and penalty shoot out bug thing quite allot but some people seem not to be bothered by this in the sense that it doesn't affect them meaning affect their machine tactics does play a huge part in the game but saying you can controll any bug with tactics is a bit ludicris as suicidal players will be bad no matter what but I think some people are going too far to either extreme and becoming fed up with the game quickly and some people are defending it far too much.
