Great post.

You have a great point.

There is a culture around here, because of the bugs forum people read the list and it suddenly becomes unplayable, its the trend to bash.

Realistically though its just mainly out of frustration at feeling like the patch is never going to come.

SI are just taking their time with the patch, to get it right, therefore, hopefully killing off most of the negativity.

The game is fairly playable in some places while others there are some bugs which do cause long term playability issues.

Personally the only bug I had effect me was the confidence bug, which, apparently is fixed in 8.01 (beta).

FM09 will be based on 08 but with new features and improvements. Therefore, any bugs in FM08 have to be addressed, or they will still be present in 09.

Now, if half the development cycle is spent fixing old things and half making new things, does it not make sense to do the first half first, releasing new builds as you go along, so that the current game improves while you make the next one?

PaulC said yesterday that SI would inform us about progress of the patch next week so i don't think it will be available today.

Ppl can make their own mind up and decide whether they want to start the new game or not. I personally don't think starting a new game at the moment is a good idea, when the full patch is due in 1 week aprox.

Unfortunately, I can tell you now that the difference between the "beta" and "real" patch wont be huge. No game is bug free, even the greatest of all games. and No game is 100% realistic, even the most realistic football management game in the world which is FM.
Who are you to tell us that about the difference between 'beta' and 'real' patch? You don't work in SI, you don't work with SI, you havn't heard from SI, the real patch is not done yet, how can you tell us that 'the difference between the "beta" and "real" patch wont be huge'? I don't like ppl making conclusions based on their own imaginations.

It is because I use my intellect and past experience while some people like to use their gut when they should really use their brain.
