Default SI - please take your time with the patch!

I'm not a major contributer to these forums but do read other posts a little and have noticed alot of people getting impatient about the forthcoming patch.

I would like to encourage SI in the development of the patch by adding that i for one would be prepared to wait if the end product was worth it.

From my brief experience of FM08 I could clearly see the potential of the changes that have been made from 07, especially with the match engine. When the bugs are sorted it will be a fantastic game.

It seems for the past few years the original release of the game has been rushed. I assume this to be related to publishing agreements, marketing strategy etc, which i know nothing about so will pass judgement on.

My message is basically please take time to get the patch right and don't give in to the numerous people demanding it now!

Perhaps they should have taken their time with the actual game then there wouldn't be such demands for a patch.

The only reason why we want a patch sooner rather than later (and im not one of the people calling for blood), is that we paid good money for a game which although is better with the patches, still is not perfect..

So, yes SI please make sure the patch is the best you can make it, but you also have to understand people frustrations at this period of stasis waiting for the final patch

I dont think SI will release the patch until they're happy with it, so no need to worry

VonBlade, I agree, but like i say in my post there are forces at work in the process of releasing and marketing a game that most of us are unaware of and so should'nt judge.

But Vimfuego... we should not have to worry about those issues, that is what SI get paid for. The only thing we should have to worry about is who we are going to sign, or how to avoid relegation, bu at present we are more concerned about is our game going to be spoiled by a bug.

Definitely. I want the patch to fix all known bugs, while hopefully not introducing any new ones. I think the annoyed members on here are more angry because FM is so close, but not quite there. That is passion for the game. We're all just wanting the patch to get us one step closer to the most enjoyable FM yet, which it has the potential to be.

I agree that taking the time to make the patch good is time well spent. I'm pleased that the game came when it did despite the bugs. It takes a month or two anyway to get to know the game and find the right tactics etc. It's all good fun to "betatest" the game at home and report the bugs on the bugs forum!
