Despite the fact that Middlesbrough is contractually obligated to play an annual friendly with my Whitby Town, they have never offered one and always reject my offers. Not a big deal, except my attendance in the 2nd season of dafuge's challenge less than half of the first, in spite of a higher league position and longer cup runs... So I'm 100k in debt even though my wages have always been below budget. I need that loot! After searching the forums, I see this was an acknowledged bug in FM2007... Did it not get fixed, or am I doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated!
unfortunately the reserves will make me 1k while the 1st team looks like a 26k income... given my predicament, I'd just as soon schedule a friendly against AFC Telford reserves as Boro's to collect 1k... Surely this is not working as intended?
Aren't you the one who's supposed to set it up though?
Just choose a date and then request a friendly.
They migght not accept that date you choose so just try another one, they should accpet fairly easily.

I agree with you. Perhaps it just seems to be the dates you are trying are not good for the first team. Have a look at their fixtures list before you offer a date to them.

No it's not. ManU always did the same to me (Newport). I had to cancel the relation since it was silly.

I believe the contract states that they have to accept a friendly invitation. They dont have to play with any of their first team players though but do have the responsibilty of fielding a team. If the refused you should take them to court or something.
If you need money and your parent club wont come and play then why not arrange some friendlies with some other premier league teams or some of the bigger european ones? I did this will FM2007 as Dundee and made more than 3 million from just playing friendlies.

In fm2007 they started offering me friendlys some years, but after time they stop. In fm2008 in 3 years they don't offered me any friendly and also don't accept my offerings. I could play with their u18, but any u18 accepts me. So I cancelled the relation.
