Basically i have done everything to download a skin. I got it off sortitoutsi, saved it to CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\data\skins and everything i have been told to do yet still when i load up fm it is not on Preferences. I have put skin cache on and everything it just will not work. Please do not take this as a rubbish thread i just want to know if i haven't done something that is important. Thanks in advance

This may sound stupid, but did you unzip it first?

When you extracted the files, what was the folder created? If you open it, are there two XML files inside it (one with skin name and another with config)? Or did extracting it create a folder without those files and which has the actual skin folders inside (ie named like "skinname" and "skinname_left" and with the two XML files inside them). Something like the above happened to me once, just move the actual skin folders to CProgram Files\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2006\data\skins from whatever folder they're in. Then they should appear in your preferences.

Is it one of those skins with left-hand, right-hand or different colour versions? Was the whole skin installed?

If so it sounds like the skin was installed properly. Then I'm not really sure what to do (apart from unzipping the skin again etc).

you have 2 directories when should have one. it's skins/allaround/allaround now. cut all the files in that directory and paste them to skins/allaround and it'll work.
