I've read reams and reams of advice on this, and other, forums. In practice, nothing has worked for me.

Does anybody know of any settings (team or individual) that will help me score more goals? I'm not asking for a complete tactic, just a few pointers.

I prefer to manage lower league teams with limited players, and I don't like using target men. I figure if I can score goals freely with Luton, I can with any team.

Any tips? Thanks.

You need to give info on your team if you want help.

Try employing a playmaker to who can link your midfield with the strikers. Try a big striker(not necessarily target man)-fast striker combination where the big striker can head balls down and small and fast strikers can finish them off. But you need to give more info on your team players, formation, etc.

I'm managing Luton (but you could use any small club), and tend to use a flat 442, although the formation is not imperative.

What I'm after are tips to score more goals. They can apply to any formation. The players I'm using are obviously poor, but therein lies the challenge. Which I can't handle on my own.

what are your players mentailties?- and what are your ST's settings?

I think actually scoring the goals is down to the players you've got. If you mean how can you CREATE more chances then try looking at the opposition before the game and look at their weaknesses.

Eg, if they're playing 3 at the back or in midfield, attackdown the wings.

Or look at opposition defender's composure and concentration. If it is low set "opposition instruction" on that player to close down often. This results in them making more mistakes and leaving your strikers with great oppotunities.

If they've got slow defenders, try playing a deep line and counter attacking with a direct/long ball style and a pacey forward.

Actually sticking the ball in the net is all down to your strikers finishing and composure though.

Let me rephrase the question:

How can I create more chances with a poor team, i.e. Luton? (Without resorting to a target man.)

I have no noteworthy instructions - everything I've tried hasn't worked.
