| I have signed Klose for Season 3 and he's played a few so far with Martins, but no I don't give him the hold up ball option.
The only changes I make anytime with the tactic are those detailed in the original post, I don't change it for different personnel or the shape for the opponent |

so, first game of the season against everton. 2-3 away win. came back from 2-1 in the last 70 minutes by going all out attack.
their first goal: goalkeeper with a long kick up the field to the left side of the pitch. my right back misjudges the flight of the ball and their left winger controls it. he hits a cross to the advanced tim cahill who loses his marker (steven gerrard) at the near post and heads it home.
their second goal: horrible positioning from anton ferdinand as he lets anichebe control and fire home from a cahill pass through the middle.
the away game against watford was a 1-1 draw. their goal was a 25 yard direct free kick from a player with a free kick stat of 11, but that's a whole other rant.
lost 0-1 at home to portsmouth. their goal: a lovely through ball diagonally lofted over my defence which finds lua lua who misses, only for giovanni torre to pounce home the rebound. all of my defence just standing there not thinking about how important second balls can be.
there you go.
| I reckon a lot of the goals you concede can be attributed down to a player losing to the opponent in the air for a headed flick-on or a ever so slightly mistimed attempt to nick the ball of a wide man. Most of my goals conceeded are from one of my guys not getting to the opponent in time to put his foot in.
The instances you describe are more than a little annoying, but I'm afraid the match engine is still far from perfect isn't it?

yes, the match engine is indeed far from perfect. I was not trying to give the tactic a proper bashing or anything by the way, I honestly enjoy using it due to it's simplicity and effectiveness in front of goal. been using and slightly adapting it for over two seasons now, just need to get my defence to actually bother about defending for a change.
one more question though; I was looking at the original tactic yesterday, and spotted one of the midfielders with an individual mentality setting (slider). this means that when you increase or decrease the overall team mentality, that one midfielder will have a lower or higher mentality than the midfielder he's playing next to. is this something you've forgot to remove, or does it indeed have a purpose? surely if you wanted the midfield to act as a cohesive line-duo, they'd have to have the same mentality? or is this to prevent them going after the same ball?

| I've done it so that when the Team Mentality is upped to Attacking that he will sit a bit deeper to pick the ball up off the defence if needed and if possible as you say to stop them being too close to each other.
Also, the theory in it defensively was he'd be a higher up the pitch when the Team Ment is set to low normal and as the MCL is the one I usually have as the real ball winner he'd stop the attacks better than the other MC who is a bit more attacking and generally not as good in the tackling area.
Asmo - I'll get back to you on that one later once I'm in from work

Thanks mate- just wondering as I noticed you use mostly team settings. I don't, currently have Akinfeev and Gordon as my options and both are consistently rubbish.
