Could you expand on the reasoning behind HUB on fullbacks or point me to the post which does?
6th post down, he refers to holding up the ball with several players but i only use it on the FB's. If you have them crossing from deep, you see the fullback timing the cross to the strikers/wingers forward runs, i've had a few headed goals this way from this, and the delivery seems far better than not having it set.
they don't seem to do it if they are under pressure so they don't get caught that often. </BLOCKQUOTE>
I can see this working too.
I had this set on my wingbacks in a 3-5-2 on FM2006, worked a treat.
I've been using this tactic with my Sunderland side and it's worked wonders for me.
I started off with a tactic of my own making and at the start of the season was going really well, won my first 4 games in a row and then did reasonably well for the next few games so I was sitting nicely at the top of the league.
Then it all started to go wrong and I slid down to 10th. So with about 12 games left in the season I decided that enough was enough and I switched to this tactic. It seemed improbably that I'd even make the playoffs but amazingly I dragged my team up and stole 2nd place on the last day of the season.
So I carried on with this tactic into the premiership and despite predictions that I'd go straight back down I'm currently sitting 11th with about 9 games left to play. I've even manged to turn over some of the top teams in some high scoring thrillers, although arsenal have knocked me out of both cups on penalties.
So I'm loving this tactic, does conceed some goals but then I am Sunderland. Seems to score plenty too. Cheers for the good tactic, it saved my season.
that is a v.good tactic, but i have two main tactics for my liverpool team who have won EPL FA LC c.league c.shield world club, all 3years runnin. HOME:

I've been registered her for a while, first time playing the game (07 that is, never played any previous versions) and im hooked.
I looked at this formation, its very good.
I don't like the away formation too much, however it's getting me results.
First season with Newcastle 10th, 2nd 1st, and currently 1st in my 3rd season, 2 points ahead of chelsea, 13 points ahead of 3rd and only 15 games in.
I bought Micah Richards to partner Taylor in defence, along with Carlinhos, and Draman, with Jordan Parkes, Marcellis as a few notable backups.
Signed Blasi from Juve, and a young kid from Barca, Thiago, and with generally Owen and Martins up front I have a fluent team.
Having a good defence is what makes this tactic worth while. My defenders are fast, and are quality defenders (not quite world class), its important have good FB's as they seem to help my team attack.
I always try and close down the opposition's DC's, however good teams get around that, and I always apply tight marking on strikers, and sometimes either MC's, or wingers.
I love playing at home, I can dominate teams quite well; away at Villa, West Ham, and Spurs causes concerns.
