Just wanted to take my own personal survey to see what people thought. Please note which you preferon both fronts and then give reasons, specifying your own personal experiences because I have noticed there are many differing views on this.
I personally seem to opt more for individual mentalities these days. Feeling that defenders should defend and attackers should attack etc. Thought it might be good to start a discussion solely focusing on these two aspects of the game.

Global or Individual for Passing and Mentality? Post #2
I'm a fan of using the 6-15 mentality split, where the defenders are on mentality of 6 and the attacks on mentality of 15. I feel that this doesn't complicate things, and it is very simply to set up.
As for passing, I struggle with this when I do actually get a game set up. If I were a poor side, I would definately use direct passing. However, I tend to play as big teams, and I can't decide whether to play short or mixed passing. I'm tending to think playing short at the moment, with the best players on mixed to make them more unpredictable.

Global or Individual for Passing and Mentality? Post #4
excluding the Target-Striker(direct-passing) i tend to have my whole team on global passing which is short,(imo)mostly the whole team gets involved in build-ups to goals, with the ball being moved around to create holes instead of just getting the ball to particular players to create chances(could be wrong but i've noticed this since using global passing)as for mentality,i've got my attackers on individual attacking mentality and defense on individual defensive mentality, only global mentality is in midfield (the engine room)they dictate tempo so i prefer them to have the team mentality(my midfield has come alive with this layout i create and score twice as much from midfield than before and my team link up play couldn't be any better)while before i relied heavily on my wingers to create, after months of experimenting with global/individual i've found this to work best for me

I'm a firm believer in global settings, mainly because it gives me more control by tweaking the team sliders. But I also believe in the school of 'one unit one setting' to make my team play more as a unit.
