I was managing Argentina and once i was in control of one of their U20's games, and I was just creating random tactics with a lone striker. That's when i made up the 3-1-2-3-1. It got some good results with Arsenal (3-1 against Barca, 3-2 against Chelsea, 2-0 against AC Milan). I'd be grateful for some constructive comments.
The most important players in this tactic are the DM who holds the midfield and defence together and the AMC, who links up the striker with the midfield.
Explanation
This tactic consists of fast, direct and attacking football that will keep the opposition under pressure. The defence will play long passes the DM holds up the ball while MC link up the play. The AM's are the creative force that will thread a ball to the striker who will be left with a simple finish.

how does your defence fair with this? as playing with only one DC and playing a wide game, doesnt this open huge gaps in defence?
i can see the attack working well tho. just the defence doesnt look too safe
I agree that the defense does look a bit weak.
How bout you add another defensive midfielder next to the one you have from the MCs so that the gaps in the defense are covered? or maybe have three CBs with the outer one moving out when you are attacking? Rest i think its perfect...ill try this in my game.
Thanks for the comments, the defence plays with 1 DC, however the DM is playing defensively therefore helping out the defence while winning possesion. Also the defensive line is quite deep so that most attacking moves will be intercepted
Personally, I am not a big fan of 1 striker formation, and definately not 1 DC either. But this idea seems very interesting, and I am goign to give it a try.
So far, I am playing in ECC, I should win since I have a very good team.
Attack: I am getting a fair few through balls. And my attacking midfielder has scored 2 goals by the 35th minute. Another goal! nice!
Defence: There are a fair few through balls being let trough against my team as well. So I have tried to sarrow the full-backs next to the DC! Hopefully that could help.
Anyways, I will give a proper analysis after a few more matches.
Also, what other results did you get with this tactic? Any more screen shots?
Friendly against Chelsea, despite the result, I was pleased as possesion was equal along with many other things just that they won more headers and tackles. Match was managed by Ass Man
This one was managed by me, I was happy with the result as Inter dominated throughout. But still I had 2 one-on-ones that Toldo saved. That's the end of the friendlies now for the real season
