I’m 12 years into a long-term career game and I’ve been given the Leeds United job after my contract expired with Watford. Leeds are in the Premier League and got taken over by some Columbian tycoon who has stuck in a good couple of hundred million and essentially handed me a blank cheque in the transfer market.
This is the first job I’ve had in FM08 with a huge transfer budget and my success till now has been built on a solid and defensive minded 4-1-4-1 with a lot of counter-attacking and set plays relied upon to get goals.
I want to change this into a more attractive style of play with some slick passing, flair and lots of goals. So I’m looking for input on a new formation and set of tactics to go with it, what have you been trying out to play “sexy football”? How has it worked out? What would you suggest trying? What type of players should I be looking for to fill each specific position?
I’ve only really tried doing this once before and the results were rather inconsistent in terms of the team’s play, I forgot who I had in my line-up but this was the formation (hope this turns out ok!):
GK
DC DC
RWBLWB
DM
RWAMCLW
FC FC
Attacking was one notch below all out attack, and creativity was to full for everyone ahead of my DM.
