Look! Will someone help me to understand?
Jan 07 transfer window. I have £5m to spend. Chairman says he would like a high profile player and I can exceed the transfer budget if I want. So I bid £15m for a classy player, bid accepted, player accepts, "..insufficent funds.."
So I go to the Board and request more money and get told they are getting fed of my requesting more funds, despite the fact this is my first request and the Chairman told me get a high profile player.
What is a Manager supposed to do?
Buy a high profile player - Insufficient fund - no additional money.
Confused at Villa!!!

Make sure your bid doesn't exceed your balance. The board won't let you put them into the red.

Hi Guys...

I'm in my 3rd season, having won the Carling cup in 2nd season.... In the League I am dreadful, currently languishing in 15th place.. am still in the UEFA Cup, but am getting frustrated big time...

I've tried numerous formations... and I know I'm not helping matter by constantly changing.... but have so far tried 3-5-2 (attacking wingbacks), 4-1-2-3, 4-3-3.....

My current 11 is:

GK: Timo Ochs / Robert Green
DR: Lucas Neil
DL Gareth Barry
DC Thomas Vermaelen
DC Corluca
DMC Rochemback
ML Freddy Adu / Haestad
MR Clint Dempsey / Petrov
AMC Freddy Adu / Steve Davis
SC Wason Renteria / Lasse Qvist
SC Klaus Huntelaar / Luke Moore

Other players used occcassionally

Bouma
Mellberg
Osbourne
Gardner

Have got some other good players as back up.. back cant seem to beat the big clubs (Have never beaten Arsenal or Liverpool)... Cant seem to decide on a good Formation... cant seem to decide on who my best strikers are....!!!

Cant post my squad yet as I'm at work... but will do so later...

Could really do with some help...!
