That right wing spot was my trouble too. I ended up getting vanden borre and playing a wingback formation with borre and barry. For season 2 I'm still having trouble finding a right wing that I like so I may do the same thing again.

I've played three seasons with Aston Villa, now here is s sum up:

Season 1:

In: Gonzalo Higuain - £2.7M
Benedict Vilakazi - £250k
Freddy Adu - £3M
Kristopher Hæstad - Free
Justin Hoyte - £1.7M

Out: Jlloyd Samuel - £1.7M
Didier Agathe - £170k

The season went pretty well, and until Feb/March we were fighting for an EURO Cup position. But due to a very bad season ending (5 goals on the last 15 league matches), we ended up on a dissapointing 9th position. Adu had some great matches, and showed great development, but had some set backs due to injuries. Luke Moore scored a bunch of goals, though.

Season 2:

In: Tom Taiwo - £850k
Michael Barnes - £700k
Mirko Vucinic - £4.3M

Out: Lee Hendrie - Free

Great season, ended up on a good 4th position, and qualified for Champions League the next season. Vucinic was a fans favourite, but only nettet 12 league goals. Moore continued his great displays, and netted 25 league goals, and ended up League Top Scorer with good margin.

Season 3:
In: Daniel Sturridge - £4.8M
Jeff Bailey (Newgen) - £850k
Steven Taylor - £12M
Cedric Evina - £2.8M

Fantastic season. After a great first half of the season we were fighting for the 1st position with Man Utd, but the great form didn't last, and after Moore was ruled out for the last 3 months of the season, we eventually ended up 3rd position, 2 points a head of Arsenal. Daniel Sturridge was the best buy of the Premiership, and he and Vicinic netted 20+ league goals each. Got knocked out of the Champions Cup in the first knockout round by Dortmund (damn you Nuri Sahin!), lost the League Cup final against Arsenal, and won the FA Cup final against Liverpool.

Ahead of the 4th season I have £22M transfer budget, but I'm not sure who to spend it on yet. Mascherano is first on my list, but relegated West Ham declined a £15M + %40 sell-on, and I'm not paying more than that for a Championship player!

I will get back to you in a couple of days, when the 4th season is over

BTW, regarding the right spot problem, Agbonlahor has been a regular there for the entire game, and I even trained him to be a AM R, wich works fine for now. Petrov has been stepping in whenenever Gabi has been out with injury or national duty. He ended up playing for the Nigerian national team, though.

I finished my season as Villa and i must say that you don't need to sign any strikers, Luke Moore scored 18 in the Prem and Angel bagged 17!!

I finished 6th and was given 8.25million for the next season, i used 6million of that to sign Kalou from Chelsea and I'm currently looking at AVB.

Im playing mighty Villa and doing great so far. 13 league wins and im 1st, 9points ahead Red Devils. Sold lot of players, Baros, Angel, Lee Hendrie, Djemba Djemba, Petrov, Whittingham, Laursen. Bought few english youngsters like Giles Barnes (scored on debut) and Ray Jones, whos the biggest suprise in positive meaning
Bagged 5 goals in 8games and made Dagoberto benchwarmer.

Im playing attacking 4-4-2.
Here is my squad:

End of season 1 I get 7m from new contract negotiations and then they bump it up to 15m before the new season. Wages were my problem not transfer fees, I should have negotiated a smaller transfer fund and larger wage budget but will have to wait for season 3 for that I suppose.

I only bought 1 player in the first season. Joey O'brien for 8milion. Absolutly amazing player. only got him because the board said that they wanted me to sign 'high profile' players. I needed a right back and found him. then i desided to stay with hughes at DR and played O'Brien in CM!

I'm near the end of my first season with Villa. Started great, went 10 games unbeaten and was flying high. Then it all went pear shaped for no apparent reason and I didn't win a game for 12 matches! Currently 13th with 6 games to go.

Lerner is refusing to splash the cash which is very dissapointing. I thought now that Ellis has finally gone I might get some decent cash to spend this year but he's only given me about 7 mil all year.

Agbonlahor has been class on the right even though I haven't re-trained his position and Petrov is class as playmaker.
