I always play the LLM way - yet after managing Vauxhall Motors, Redbridge, Eastbourne, Carshalton and Havant & Waterlooville in five seperate games I have never had a manager approach me about a forthcoming game or saying something afterwards.

The only time I managed at non LL team (Chelsea) I was inundated with 'em.

Does anyone while managing LL teams become embroiled in mind games that aren't intiated by yourself?

I have had the odd comment here and there but they are few and far between. I find them frustrating as you are not able to retaliate in the way I would like and your players take a dim view of you whatever you do!

When I was managing in Second Division Slovenia I caused a bit of a feud with a fellow manager. I said I disliked him and such.

Well, the consequence of that was that every game we played against eachother he would make comments to the press.

So if you make a couple of fellow managers dislike you, you're pretty sure you're getting some attention

I always have messages aimed at me via Radio phone in's and the local Freeads paper - "Team Manager thingymajig feels my team is not promotion capable and will lose no sleep if he beats us this forth coming match" I swaer they count the words to keep it cheap. However, I always seem to reply via phone in's? which i wouldn't do if i were the manager for real.

I gave up using mind games after the comment I was expecting to make was nothing like it on screen.

I would react to a comment by saying nothing bad about the other manager but the screen response would be that I have reacted angrily. My players then think I am unprofessional!

I get a few with Pboro, mainly when I am vsing Northampton. A former Arsenal defender who is now manager Wycombe on the other hand can not shut his gob up. I think he critizes everyone!
