Hey All,

A bit of background:

Have been tempted by LLM before but never really thought I'd enjoy it - I tend to enjoy moving between clubs relatively often so this should be an experience, not to mention a test of my patience. I selected Sutton Utd as its not far from where I actually live.

A quick evaluation of the squad:
Showed me that actually, it was shocking compared to anything I'd managed before. Plenty of players covering the major positions but no injury cover, and most of them have all the technique of my ironing board. Hmmm. On the plus side, I had a massive 8k to spend and plenty of space on the wage bill once I'd got rid of some players who weren't even good enough for dog food.

Got rid of 11 players for a total sum of 7 k. Brought in 20! All on free's, thinking that I could evaluate a few of them in my reserve team. Oh no, no reserve team fixtures. Taxi!

The League:
Another piece of news to me - a 42 game league season - went by with much incident. It took me 30 games to get a tactic sorted, during which time I tried 3 different defaults before finding one that started to work a bit. I had a total of four votes of confidence (bizarrely followed by a job offer from Cambridge United!) and generally dwelt between 15th and 18th before an incredible run of 6 straight wins in my last 6 games catapulted me to 10th on closing day, only 4 points from the playoffs - mostly on the back of the form of a freebie striker who, 20 games into his season, discovered that the white netty thing was good for sticking the round bouncy thing into. Bonus.

The Cups:
A disgrace. Can't do worse next season.

Future Plans:
- Find a keeper with more than one leg.
- Find any defenders at all.

UELLfan - it was actually more than 20 "out" by the time I hit the start of the new season, but I'm going to count them as next years as they were a part of my unglorious campaign.

Anyone know how high up the pyramid you have to go before your reserves actually play some games?

Conference National- if you've got any reserves. Can't imagine any team has got a bugdet big enough to play a team of non-grey players.

My wage budget is actually reasonable, and I signed so many players on short term low-wage contracts I could probably just about field a team.

However, I've lost a stack of money so I wonder if it will be reduced in the coming season.

Oh the tribulations...
