Well, the Championship season for me at Burnley ended after 44 of the 46 games. With Burnley second and needing only a point for a return to the big time, I was offered the job at Leicester, 1 place higher than me in the pyramid with their promotion already guaranteed.
Reasons for taking the job? Well, partly a feeling that I'd taken Burnley as far as I could - my stars all wanted higher wage deals than the board would give, and Leicester had a couple of players that I genuinely felt I could build a European football candidate around. I refused Newcastle (Chairman

) but Leicester seemed like a place I could head for.
Naturally, however, they had a collection of overpaid players who wouldn't ever get into one of my teams - so there was some work to be done. An evaluation of the squad showed that I had some room in the wage bill (which was budgetted at 475k) and cash to spend (15 million) so I started to look at who I could bring in from my shortlist, and immediately placed adverts for all staff - none of the current incumbents appealled.
So I'm through to the new season - and I;ve completed some frantic spending - I've already shipped out 12, brought in 9 - but still have a pretty threadbare squad - desperately seeking a centre half, a striker (both of which I only have three of!), a GK and some squad depth. On the upside, I have a really solid midfield (if aging) which should keep me in the division. On the downside, my board took 200k off the wage allowance, and I'm down to a budget of 275k - which I'm miles over! So I'll need to rectify that.
So - 2013 / 2014:
Expectations - avoid the drop.
Wage budget - 275k.
Transfer budget - 15 million, 11 of which I've spent.
Personal goal - 10th to 15th spot.
