I seem to score more goals post-patch. Unfortunately, letting in just as many so lost in the playoffs 5 - 4...
btw, Ian, what's a playmaker?
And isn't that borderline tipping?
KUTGW Matt!

A playmaker's a Jamaican bloke, born in London(?), signed from a London Club, who plays a blinder almost every game and has averaged 8.13 in the three seasons he's been here
To make it almost embarrassing, he scores goals from midfield, too!!!
...and you should taste his Jerk Pork post match... (, Steady!!)

Don't think I'd want one from what Ian is saying.
He's far too good for my Lewes team. |

I dispute the fact that the slump goes away. Although I could just be inflexible and crap

The playmaker in most of my matches is the referee. If he chooses not to send off three of my players, I have a chance of making some plays...
And agree on the slump - I've gone a season past there now and not managed to find a consistent tactic. It's tough, and I can't work out what I'm doing wrong. Bah!

No! No! No! Matt, you're not doing anything wrong! No way!
If those feckers ain't capable to translate and understand the easy instructions and directives they are given it's not your fault... not by a mile.
Just list them and bring new ones. Until you get some that really perform with the master tactic you have. |

Excellent choice, I find that those one-footed players find it hard to keep their balance as they hop around the pitch.

Latest Update:
Horror start to the season that was more than made up for by the end. 1 win in the first 8 games and the signing of the loan striker from my first season prompted yet another tactical reshuffle to include two forwards - and it paid off, big time, with a march up the table, that was given extra impetus with the signing of a creative midfielder from Ireland and an aggressive leftback who really improved my defense.
Bournemouth were way too strong to catch and Carlisle were impressive but a third place finish took me through the playoffs into the final. Ironically, I'd qualified for the FA trophy final as well, and my opponents in both finals, over a 5 day period, were to be Carlisle. A shaky start in the cup final soon worked itself out to present a 2-1 victory, which I followed up with a 3-1 victory in the Playoff final. So season 2008 / 2009 will take place in English League Two!
Two new signings (a pacey DC and a left footed midfielder)and a host of youngsters leaving the club as I don't think they'll make the grade. I've only got 12k to spend and a wage budget of £6750, which I'm already on. Not sure how long I'll last as some of the numerous job offers I've been receiving (12 during the course of the season, highest placed job was 10th in the Championship!) are starting to look a bit tempting - particularly as many of my players are due contract extensions and the board won't give me the money to retain them - but for the moment, Sutton is holding my attention.
