So I've taken over stevenage of the conference national. Large database, conf. n/s and up are the only leagues playing due to my quality machine.
The season got off to a bad start getting 2 points in 5 games, but then i made a few changes. I put my unheralded 18 year-old striker in the first XI, and signed a 21 year-old left defender for 20k from Slough town. All of a sudden, the goals started pouring in from my two strikers, and i found myself securely in the top half of the table after 20 matches. My goal for the season was to have a respectable finish.
I loaned a young d/m r who played in almost every match as a substitute, and i bought an 18 year-old striker that my scout recommended from some lower-league team. January, and february saw me tearing through the conference going on a 13 game league unbeaten run, which would have been longer if the fa trophy competition was included.
I had a lack-luster april, but finished the season in 4th, and went to the playoffs.
I was approached by league 2 macclesfield, but rejected because there current side relied too much on loaned players, and i rejected rushden simply because i wanted to finish the season with stevenage.
I beat non-league team Braintree for the FA trophy, and won about $150k in proze money from the entire cup.
I advanced to the conference finals rather easily on a 4-0 aggregate, and faced nearby rival Barnet for the right to play in league two the following season. I beat Barnet 2-1 without my start striker because of the red card he received in the fa trophy final.
After the season i slashed about $7 of salary, and got it down to only $500 over the wage budget, but now my team was absolute crap. I still had the 2 great strikers but i was lacking at every position of defense. I brought in about 25 trialists over the summer, but none of them were good enough to make a difference, so i applied for the rushden job that i had rejected a few months earlier, and right before the start of the season i was the manager for rushden & diamonds.
More to come detailing my tales from wherever rushden plays.
Nice first post, pity though about choosing Boro ( )
Well done for getting the scum up and the FA Trophy, and also for ditching the for rushden.
Welcome to LLM, KUTGW & GL
Post supplied by a Woking fan, hence Stevenage() baiting. Woking & Boro are probably the non league version of the rivalary between arsenal and man utd.
Two horribly successful teams who should have no real reason to hate each other than the fact they are both super rich and competeing to be the best club in the contry?

Thats not LLM BURN THEM!

Did you actually read what i put.
Woking & Stevenage are in the conference National.
Which makes them LLM.
The only rivalry which I felt as an example for people who DON'T know about non-league team rivalries was the United-Arsenal one.
Also Woking and Stevenage combined value won't come close to touching the Arsenal benmch, so how do you make out that they are super rich, and as they are at the bottom rung of the professional ladder, there is no way for them to be the best in England.
Further on the Woking being super-rich, we are losing 500,000 a year for the last 3 years and look to do the same this, and it is only due to us not having an arse of a chairman we are not in the same situation as the likes of Northwich, Dover and the now extinct Telford.
Fids, LLM as we see it is playing in the lowest league possible in a given country.
We consider Conference National acceptable if a person's computer is unable to handle the number of divisions being in the Conference North/South requires, but that's the only time Conference National is "LLM."
I'm starting to tire of these newcomers trying to redefine LLM in their own interpretations....
I was trying to play some satirical humour card on comparing two ***** teams to Arsenal and Manure, then added the Burn them comment. Oppsie seems sarcasm doesnt work on the net without a
