Season 2 completed.
To recap, i applied for the rushden job i had previously turned down after one league match with stevenage because i wanted to have a chance in league 2, and because im bored of playing with stevenage (since cm4).

Anyway, the whole season was steady, up right around, or barely in the "playoff zone". I found the team to be solid everywhere with many versatile young guys. Most of the credit goes to my star striker who netted 31 goals in league play. The only move i made was selling my left-mid for 260k dollars. I also brought in an ass manager who was very similar to the one i had back at broadhall way.

The end of april came and i once again found myself in the playoffs. I faced shrewsbury in the semifinal where i tied the first leg 2-2 despite playing down a man for 60 minutes, and them having two goals on penalties . I won the following game 3-0, and advanced to the final where i came from behind to score 3 second half goals and beat oxford 3-1 in front of 26k at wembley.

For the first time in my cm/fm career i was promoted 2 consecutive seasons. Another first for me: It was the 1st time i had made a profit with a lower league team.

Summary: Finished in 7th, but won promotion. Avg. attendance of 4477, and made 350k for the season. I did nothing in the cups, advancing to the 2nd round in all of them.

Have to do a midseason update here. After getting $110k in transfer money i sold my star striker to a league 1 team i can't remember right now for 700k! With the money i was able to buy a few players that played pretty big roles, but i couldn't settle on contracts with many players because my wage budget was still 20k

Midway through the season i was sitting in 17th, 5 points safe of the last of the 4 relegation spots. I apllied for the plymouth job because i always apply for jobs that i know i have no chance in getting. A few weeks later i'm the plymouth manager.

This might have to get fixed in the future because i found this to be a pretty unrealistic job offer. I've gone from promoting stevnage to league 2, to promoting rushden to league 1, and in my 3rd season i'm with plymouth who were in 3rd (1 point off the co-leaders) when i took over. My reputation is still obscure, so the fans weren't very happy.

Because Plymouth was relegated from the premiership after 1 season up there I was given an unbelievable sum of $17.5 million for transfers, $400k wage budget (only 170k used up when i took the job), and the club is rich. I also have some very good-looking players.

I spent 448 days at rushden which is 40 more than i spent at stevenage, who are now struggling mightily back in the conference. I'll probably stay at plymouth longer than that, although i could see myself applying for the afc wimbeldon job if they ever make it to the conference n/s.

Erm, excuse me, but you applied for the Plymouth job, and then you b!tch about unrealistic job offers? If you think it's unrealistic (which it is, btw), don't take it

I couldn't resist the job. I've never managed a club with so much money to spend.

It's the whinning about unrealistic job offers that triggered that reply from me. Other than that, it's your game, do whatever you think will give you more pleasure.

End of 06/07 season.
Finished the season with plymouth on a tear, and were crowned champions of the championship with a match left to play. My 28 year old striker was just too good for most defenders and netted 31 goals in the league (38 overall), and was easily the top scorer.

When i reached plymouth they were still alive in the fa cup, and i took them to the 5th round where we lost 3-0 away to chelsea.

I brought in a 19-year old aml from watford (L1) who i had targeted at rusdhen. Strangely he was still sitting in the reserves, and when i brought him in he had an average rating of just under 8 in the 18 matches he played in with us. I managed to find a promising teenage gk in L2, and he has more potential than my current gk, but is not close to being as good yet.
I only spent 1.5 of my outrageous $17million transfer budget.

I succesfully upgraded my facilities at the end of the season, although there is no news yet on my stadium which is at 20,000 (i realise this is easily enough, but if we want to stay in the premeiership than it should be expanded.)

My reputation took 100 days to reach "local" and a further 40 to reach "national".

Other things of note:
Rushden were relegated back to L2 by 3 goals on goal differencial.
Arsenal won their 4th straight premiership title. Spurs placed 3rd!
Liverpool won the champions league, and chelsea won the euro cup.
Southampton won automatic promotion along with me, and the wolves join us after coming back from being down 4-1 aggregate after the first leg of the semifinal. So there are no newcomers to the premier league since we had been there before just 2 seasons ago.

It'd be interesting to find out how you came by that nugget of information.
