Faster than the Kitzbuhel downhill run, where skiers can go over 130kph?

During the Close Season I began to get an incredible itch in my feet, and athlete's foot it wasn't.

Pastures new beckoned, Bratfud were managerless in League 2 so I applied for the job and 2games (and 2 losses) into the season they offered me the job, and I was Valley Parade bound.

In debt, a squad of has beens and never wases, but a few entertaining looking U-18's, it looked like a job for a few seasons, maybe up to my game retirement.

First few games were a but ifs and buts, but eventually I discovered a crap looking Irish bloke was actually a not bad playmaker so I made him the focal point of our team...until he did a cruciate in a game against Wycombe.

We reached the semi-final of the Vans Trophy (sucks ass), and made an early exit in the League Cup (sucks ass).

We were about to take on Wigan in the FA Cup when Hearts sacked Robbo and decided I was the guy to approach to lead them from 12th place in the SPL (mugs).

Being an immensely loyal chap, and only having just joined Bratfud 5 months earlier, I packed my bags and was heading back up to Jockland like a ferret down a rabbit hole.

Oh dear. The Jambos were dire. Languishing in 12th spot, everyone unhappy, half the first team wanting away, over budget in the wages and £2m in debt.

...and the first game a televised derby match at Easter Road.

They humiliated us 3-0.

I approached Dundee to loan two Polish guys I'd signed, a GK and a DMC, and a young Jockland AM/LC, and they let them come for the season, and whilst I was there I noticed an SC who wanted away, and had done a job for me at Notts County and Dundee, so I bought him for £50k.

Scouts headed out, but by the time they started reporting the transfer window was closed so we could only sign a few frees, but one was a Spanish AMR who's a flyer.

Anyhoo, results perked up a tad (including a 2-0 win at Ibrox) and we finished the season in 8th place, avoided relegation, and we may have a EURO Vase place next season.

In all we played 20 games. W7, D6, L5 in the League, and W1, L1 in the Scottish Cup (sucks ass).

Working through the Close Season now, not updated at June 21st yet.

Updates, not stories.

Great read though. I actually read in its entirety, which is a rarity.

I could sense the excitement...which is probably why it's so readable. I'd publish it.

Ay, it is a good read. And coming from a mod, makes me fell a little less guilty for jumping ship from tiny clubs in lowly leagues to languishing, debt-ridden clubs in higher leagues.
