As in bragging how crap I am - that's allowed!

Has anyone ever managed to win a league with such an indifferent performance as this? I checked the league team and player stats at the end of the season and this is where my highest placed players lay:-

Average rating 16th
Goals 22nd (10 goals)
Penalties 18th
Assists 55th
Team Goals 96th
Games Won 33rd
Man of the Match 46th
Pass Completion 4th (aha!)
Tackles 17th
Dribbles 34th
Shots on target 14th
Manager of the month - two
Player of the month - none
Young player of the month - two
Players' team of the year - none
Goal of the month - none

Team stats:

Goals scored 3rd
Conceded 1st (the secret!)
Yellow and red cards - 21st

- And yet I finished Conference National champions!

Anyone else gain promotion through being so spectacularly mediocre?

Mediocrity is my speciality unfortunately I have no stats to back it up.

Seems you either had a good goalie and /or good defenders because your attacking stats are indeed poor.

It's exactly that physim.

When I analysed my squad I saw my strength was in defence. My lowest rated (i.e. average rating over the season) player was remarkably my goalkeeper; it's the ten men in front of him who do the defending. I've honed a classic 'park the bus' tactic to grind out the results. Prolly not pretty to watch unless you're the gaffer and it's your job on the line!

Guess your goalie gets poor rating as he has little to do, or just sits by the post reading or talking to the crowd leaving his post, and getting *slightly* out of position once somebody manage to hit the target

Ironicallt he's actually a damned good keeper, but as you say the defence rarely let's the ball get anywhere near him. Mind you League Two might be a different proposition.

If I were to meet one of my virtual fans in my career save I'm not sure if he'd hug me or kill me for the utter boredom that our home matches are...

However, Average attendance of approximately 15k would suggest they are thrilled with our usual 0-0 result :cool:
