Same here - I found managing the Real Madrids and Chelseas of this world boring so went for the small fry. Did a bit of mooching about and found the LLM boards.

After a bit of reading, you soon realise gobbing off about the way we play the game only gets you trouble. This is the way we play, and we get a massive amount of satisfaction out of it. And I couldn't match Ian for sarcasm or viciousness anyway, so wouldn't try it.

If you disagree or don't like it, go elsewhere. (I was gonna say f**k off but thought it would get edited).

Oh, and it is only a game at the end of the day - just enjoy it, kids.

I joined a little over a month ago. Saw the forum header. Read it (apart from the bit about 1 update thread per month - ooops) and thought that it sounded like a fun way to play the game.

If I had come here, read the rules and decided I liked my way of doing things I wouldn't post here and I'd carry on playing my own way. No one would put a gun to my head.

At least I dont think anyone would put a gun to my head.

The guidelines were not created in a wash of beer & chips in a one night binge. They were evolved over a period of time, to the stage where they are today. Do you think that your idea is brand new? This topic has been raised numerous times before, and has been dismissed as not appropiate to LLM.

Look Danny, it is really really simple, and let me explain it again. Enjoy the game, play in what ever form you like, however if you want to play by the guidelines, buying players like that is not on.

LLM would not be LLM without a resident newbie walking in and thinking they know best. It happened when I joined, it happened now and it will happen again.

People just cannot accept that we know best wrt LLM. They join up, have a look, don't agree and then think they can justify why we should or shouldn't do something and then try and educate us about it.

Sorry guys, it will never work.

I honestly don't see it as a case of winning or losing, though, it's just commonsense.

Look at it this way...if you were a Rangers supporter would you go into the local Celtic Club and tell them supporting Celtic was wrong and they should change colours?

Not if you wanted to go home with them attached to you as opposed to juggling them :eek:

I couldn't agree more with this quote, for me the LLM rules bring the game to life. There is no challenge taking charge of top clubs and buying the same players over and over again to achive what? Oh, I've won the league for Tottenham with the same squad I used at Chelsea last time I played FM!

As everyone else has said, if you don't like the style of play, don't post here. Why are you trying to seek acceptance, just play your game and shut up!
