Loaded up this game called FM 2005. Had it sitting in the cupboard gathering dust since Xmas, and thought I'd give it a whirl. Frank sent me to some obsure team in Braziland ya know, some things don't change.
Usual story, no players who can play on the left, no money, overwieght and slow MC's and DC's who's greatest achievement is running away from the

Your & only Goalie is injured - What do you do? Post #2
90lb weakling that kicks sand in thier face.....and one goalie
I had a smile on my face when I saw I only had one goalie. Give him three weeks and he will be injured thought I. It only took one, and now he is out with a hammy strain for three weeks. My scout hasn't even kick-started his mo-ped bike to go scouting through the jungles of Brazil looking for new recruits, and my first serious game is in three days.
Tried a couple of over-abundant FC's in between the sticks, and they have as much difficulty stopping the goals as they had scoring them.
The question is, would you use a "grey" goalie since you don't have any other choice, or would you like me throw the green jumper to one of the reserves and just grit your teeth and hope your goal difference is recoverable come the end of seson?

With no backup-goalies I'd probably stick an alien in goal, as they're bound to be better than an outfielder. Fortunetely never been in the situation though

This happened to me once I used the "grey" goalie and he let through a shirtload of goals. Thankfully my goalie recovered for the next game so I never used an outfielder in goal.

I think both ways is pretty realistic. I mean, you have no time to get a real keeper. You have heard a friend of a friend reckons he can play in goal and you are desperate, ala the grey player. I think that may be a realistic scenario for the lower leagues.
Again, you have no goalie and no time to sign one, you don't have a friend of a friend down the pub who can play in goal, ala using a reserve.
