Default First LLM attemt - Worksop Town

Fairly low expectations from the media - relegation battelers. My board seem to be slightly more realistic and are hoping that I can avoid the Conference North relegation battle altogether. My assistant manager has told me that the squad will need to be strengthened in order to succeed however, closer inspection shows that in all areas other than defence, we are pretty much good enough for this league. Unfortuantly there is no money to spend and I am already about £700 over the weekly wage budget of 3.4k. The first step I have taken towards improving the squad is bringing in youngsters that have bee released from higher league clubs - they had better peform!

I just jumped from Worksop Town. And yes, they're much better than relegation battlers.

Is this an update I see before me?

League: Well, the season could not have started much worse than it did - a 6-1 defeat at home to Nuneaton Borough. A draw and another heavy defeat followed and it started to look as though it was going to be a season in the bottom half of the league. However, things began to pick up after that and by the end of September, I was in a solid midtable position. I continued to go from strength to strength and after an 8 match winning run, I found myself in 2nd by the start of the new year. Then the wheels fell off. I failed to win in the next 6 games and suddenly and even after that, my form was pretty poor and my play-off place looked to be in severe doubt. Thankfully, I regained form by the end of the season and finished in a strong 4th place.

In the play-off semi-final, I faced former Conference side Kettering with the first leg at my ground. I won 2-1 in the first game and 2-0 in the return fixture to set up a Conf North final with Hinkley at Nottingham Forest's City Ground. After going 1-0 and 2-1 down, I pulled it back to 2-2 before conceeding a last minute penalty which was converted confining me to another season in the Conference North. In a small amount of consolation, Hinkley went on to lose 2-0 to Hornchurch in the final.

FA Cup: Victories over Chelmsford City, Runcorn, Accrington Stanley and Harrogate Town set up a secondround clash with Bristol Rovers which I won 2-1 to get a place in the 3rd round and a big(ish) money clash against Birmingham. I lost spectacularly in front of 22,000 people. Ker-ching!

FA Trophy: Won in the first round, put out my reservs ins econd round and got knocked out - 'nuff saud.

Average Attendance: 1267
Promoted from Conference North: Nuneaton Borough
Relegated to Conferece North: Carlisle

With the money from the FA Cup, the board have kindly upgraded mytraining facilities to good - a nice time to bring in more youngsters! I am predicted to finish mid table next season by both the board and the media.
