I've done a search, but can't find the direct answer to a question I haven't seen asked...
When playing in Brazil, I know that everyone has to have a minimum fee release clause, but I have no way of changing it. Every player I buy has this fee automatically in his contract. I can increase it or decrease it using his wages, but I would like to sign players and have VERY large minimum fee releases if they are a potential star.
Is this unchangeable fee a bug, or is it the way things happen in Brazil?
You cant change any min fee that is already in a contract but you can renegotiate this when you renew a contract or set your own level when you offer a contract to a new player. Be advised though that some players will not accept an unrealistically high min fee as this stops them from moving on.
Cheers Fraz, but therein my problem lies. If I sign a new player, the "Minimum Fee Release Clause" box is thee, with a value in, but it greyed out. I can make it go down or up by decreasing/increasing his weekly wage.
I'm therefore inclined to say that it isn't a bug, but the chairman is setting it for me?

I'm still none the wiser
Value of player determined through wage structure and wage being paid. Selling talent is one of the best ways brazil has to make money on football. Basically your player could be the next ronaldinho, but unless you upp his wages he's still going to go for peanuts.
