hello everyone!

like ive played the fm series for a while now, i think i played fm05 first i think so im no pro just your average fan right. like ive never had a problem with the game in terms of bugs or crashes or whatever but this version (fm08) i am having a slight problem with the speed of the game. IT'S REALLY REALLY SLOW... i don't konw why because on my comp i played fm06 and fm07 fine, but like fm08 is unbeliveably slow. like takes like 10 minutes to load some things. like the matches are not laggy or anything but processing takes forever. i have like 1 gig memory, 3200 AMD i think processor or whatever... i'm windows xp... i do have the patch installed i read it was slower with the patch but like its shockingly slow. hm... what am i doing wrong?

Like you probably arent doing anything wrong. Its like maybe because of the patch and stuff. I heard some people saying its slow and such but its not for me.

Like all i can suggest is that you like wait for the full patch like and see then.

Like if it was slow before then check that somthing else on your computer isnt causing this. Virus checker, too many things open at once etc like.

Taz stop taking the p*ss! It's not very nice. Anyway back to the original question I would try a spyaware scan as well as a Virus scan.

Too many leagues selected ?

Did you use recommended setup ?

Big small database ?

these things affect game speed, a bit more information about these settings is needed to be able to help you any further

How many leagues are you running?- perhaps you are running them all on full detail, which is very processor intensive.

Was running faster than FM07 for me, untill I used the beta patch, now it can take minutes to process fixtures, and 1 minute in a match lasts about 5 seconds. (not the highlights)

I noticed that too.

I have always set the Match speed to fastest and Highlight speed to 2nd fastest option.

On retail, the match speed is the same as FM07 in that while not on the pitch, minutes do fly past. Blink slowly and you might miss a couple of game minutes.

On the pitch, the action is fast pace but still watchable.

Post patch, on the same settings, it is much slower.

Outside the pitch, each minute takes much longer to pass. It is definitely taking more than a sec per game minute, which is much slower than before. It is very obvious and I initially thought I forgot to set the match speed.

On the pitch, it's even worse. It's like watching it in slow motion. Ironically, sliding the highlight bar to slowest seems to have sped it up, but that could just be my imagination.

I started a game with all English leagues active and Scottish leagues there but not playable with large database and players included from various nations...big mistake on my laptop (~1.6GHz I think) - it takes about an hour to play 1 week assuming there's only 1 game in the week!

I then started a game with Italy down to Serie C1 level and medium database, no players specifically included from other nations and it flies like the wind (relatively!) so the settings you use have a huge impact on how fast it goes.

I've noticed tha FM is getting slower and slower every year for me. waiting over 10mins sometimes for cups. the match speed is extremley slow as well on this year's game. i've put my game on ebay now anyway.
